EDDIE PEAKE - A Dream of a Real Memory, Piccadilly Circus, LONDON

CIRCA invites one of London’s most seminal artists, Eddie Peake, to strip back the adverts and immerse Piccadilly Circus in a wash of green light, every evening throughout December, at c.20:20 - 20:22 GMT on the iconic Piccadilly Circus Screen. The footage of the sixty-two-minute video work will be screened in daily two-minute episodes over 31 days.

Eddie Peake will lead the seventh edition of Volcano Extravaganza, the festival of contemporary art presented by Fiorucci Art Trust. This year’s edition is set in Naples and in the Sicilian island of Stromboli, where Peake will re-enact performances from his body of work as well as presenting To Corpse, a new performance conceived for the festival.

Jeffrey Deitch re-opens his Wooster Street gallery with three evenings of performance by Eddie Peake. Peake's new work builds on a series of performances created over the last few years for numerous galleries and spaces, including Tate Modern, London (2012) and Performa, New York (2013). Articulating the complex strains of intimacy that develop between people, Eddie Peake has developed a gallery-based performance in which the relationships between an ensemble are made palpable through a series of choreographed gestures and interactions.

Eddie Peake will feature in the group show "Conversation Piece, Part 1" opening on the 10th of February at Fondazione Memmo - Arte Contemporanea in Rome. The exhibiton, curated by Marcello Smarrelli, will be the first of a series focused on artists currently residing in Rome, scholars at foreign academies, cultural institutes, museums, foundations.
